Reinsch Library Special Collections

Information on the Reinsch Library's collections, including special collections, can be found online. Marymount's special collections include material in the Boldt room, the Gomatos reading room, and Marymount University archives The library also makes available electronic theses and dissertations.

Mabelle Wilhelmina Boldt Room

The Boldt collection comprises materials that were in the library of the International Institute of Interior Design, which ceased operation in 1990. Founded in 1957, and presided over for three decades by Mabelle Wilhelmina Boldt, the Institute provided professional training to students in interior design.

John T. and Agnes J. Gomatos Reading Room

The John T. and Agnes J. Gomatos Reading Room, located on the second floor of the Reinsch Library houses a collection of old and rare books donated by Dr. Peter Gomatos. Collection strengths include English and American literature dating from the 18th and 19th centuries, particularly women authors; religious and theological works; early science; travel literature; social customs; legends and folklore. The Gomatos collection includes a first edition of the important Luther Bible.
