Pedagogical Support

Center for Teaching Excellence

The CTE offers a wide variety of programs and events for the Marymount faculty:

  • new faculty orientation and seminars
  • workshops
  • annual Innovations conference (October 20, 2010)
  • faculty learning committees
  • consultation services
  • teaching and learning resources

**Of special interest to faculty may be the peer consultation network: The Center for Teaching Excellence is interested in facilitating a peer observation/consultation network at Marymount. If you would be interested in working with other faculty members to observe each other’s classes and give feedback, please contact the Center to be notified of opportunities to help form the network. If you are already partnering with another faculty member, let us know!

Support for Faculty Scholarship

Feel free to schedule an appointment with CTE director Carolyn Oxenford or DISCOVER writing specialist Sylvia Whitman to talk about an idea or draft in progress. We encourage you to consider publishing scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) as well as research in your field. See our list-in-progress of SoTL journals. You can also learn more in the MUir research and grants pages.
